Auctions for Christian Mission (previously Northwood Missionary Auctions) is a unique, interdenominational charity that for the past 54 years has been dedicated to raising funds for the spread of the Christian Gospel. AfCM assisted individuals and missionary causes sell suitable items through established auction houses at special low or zero rates of commission. We are sincerely grateful to those Salesrooms for their indirect contribution to our work.
Sadly, Auctions for Christian Mission is ceasing operations and will be wound up later this year (2024). For the time being, we are happy to advise potential donors on suitable ways of disposing of items with the least expense, but we are no longer able to handle the sale of items ourselves. The reason for our demise, after raising well over £1million for Christian outreach, is that the market for disposal of antiques and valuables has changed dramatically since the time we were established, and it is no longer practicable or economic for us to continue operating as an intermediary.
Northwood Missionary Mart, Northwood Missionary Auctions, Auctions for Christian Mission – the three names under which we have operated since 1969; it has been an immense privilege for us, as Trustees, to welcome the literally hundreds of volunteers that have been able to enjoy serving and contributing to the Trust in its different identities over the years. There have been the donors, many auctioneers, helpers on the days of the sales, valuers, collectors, bric-a-brac salespersons, caterers, bookkeepers, cataloguers, photographers, drivers, security people and many others! What a true and memorable time of Christian fellowship we have all enjoyed. We remember, rejoice and thank those helpers who are now with their Lord; we thank those who can still enjoy memories of the more recent years.
